It’s Friday night, at about 8pm. I’m sat in my PJs watching Gotham^ on Netflix when suddenly I remember I have a letter to post!

It’s raining outside and I can hear the wind picking up, do I want to go outside? No, not really. But do I want to get up in the morning to post it? Well, this depends…

…on how early I’d have to get up to catch the last Saturday post. I typed into Google “Last Posting time post box Royal Mail” and fully expected the Royal Mail website to give me an answer, show me my local post box with last posting times…

I didn’t get the Royal Mail website. But I did get a search result for a website called “Local Postbox”. I followed the link, popped my postcode in a search box, and up came my local post box – with the last collection details shown.

Here’s the details for the postbox near Helpful Books HQ:

How-To:

https://www.localpostbox.co.uk/

  1. Head over to the website https://www.localpostbox.co.uk/
  2. Pop your postcode in and press search.
  3. Then click on the red marker on the map to show the Post Box details. The blue marker is roughly where you are.

In the example below you can see all the Post Boxes close to Helpful Books in Millom.

Note: The website has a lot of adverts on it, which is how they pay to keep the website running. Just keep an eye out for them as they can get in the way.

The last collection for my post box on a Saturday is 9.15 am, so I got my wellies on and went to post my letters in the rain, after pausing Gotham, of course. This means that I could have a nice lie-in on Saturday while my post makes its way on its way.

Hope this find this helpful.

Mike 🙂

^ If you’re a Batman fan I can totally recommend Gotham.
