How To Transfer Photos From Your Phone To Your PC (The Easy Way)

Hi Everyone,

I’ve had this question quite a few times over the past few weeks for different devices, so I thought what better to do than create a comprehensive post that covers all your worries about transferring photos from your mobile phone or tablet onto your PC. I’ve split it up into Apple and Android as the steps are the same for phones and tablets but slightly different for Apple and Android.

Apple:

1. Plug your phone into the PC using the USB cable.
2. Unlock your phone.
3. Allow the phone to access photos and videos.

Windows Users:

4. Now on your PC, in the windows 10 search bar search for This PC and press enter.
5. Under device and printers double click on your mobile phone’s name.
6. Double click on Internal Storage and then DCIM.
7. Choose a folder and search for your pictures/videos.
8. You can either right click to copy the photo and paste it into a folder on your computer, or click and drag the photo to a new folder on your computer (Top tip you can hold Ctrl on your keyboard and click the photos to select multiple photos at once to copy and paste)

Mac Users:

4. Click finder in the top left.
5. Under devices click your phone.
6. Click Internal storage.
7. Click DCIM then choose a folder and search for your pictures/videos
8. You can now select the photos you want to move (multiple can be selected by holding down the command key) press command + C to copy and in the destination, you wish to copy to press command + V

Android:

1. Plug your phone into the PC using the USB cable.
2. Unlock your phone.
3. Swipe down from the top of your phone to open up the notification centre.
4. A notification will be in here, tap it and you will get multiple options – tap on file transfer.

Windows Users:

5. Now on your PC, in the windows 10 search bar search for “This PC” and press enter.
6. Under device and printers double click on your mobile phone’s name.
7. Double click Internal Storage and then DCIM.
8. Choose a folder and search for your pictures/videos
9. You can either right click to copy the photo and paste it into a folder on your computer, or click and drag the photo to a new folder on your computer (Top tip you can hold Ctrl on your keyboard and click the photos to select multiple photos at once to copy and paste)

Mac Users:

5. Click finder in the top left.
6. Under devices click your phone.
7. Click Internal storage.
8. Click DCIM then choose a folder and search for your pictures/videos
9. You can now select the photos you want to move (multiple can be selected by holding down the command key) press command + C to copy and in the destination, you wish to copy to press command + V

Well, I hope this helped many of you out with your transferring photos problems. If you are still stuck or something is not exactly clear just let me know and I’ll help further.

Thanks,

Mike.
