This Is Some Smart Tech: Under Display Cameras
I was searching around the news on my way into work today on the train, and I found something that blew my mind. I honestly didn’t think this was possible within a decent budget with current technology, but here it is, a front facing camera that is under the screen.
No, it wasn’t the likes of Samsung or Apple that have showcased this technology first, it’s actually two very popular Chinese manufacturers OPPO and Xiaomi. I’ll let you watch the two videos below.
For those seeking the perfect, notchless smartphone screen experience – prepare to be amazed. 📲

What Do I think?
Now we must remember that this technology is in its extremely early days and these phones are only just prototypes. Chances are it will still be a while before we see these phones on the market with this technology. I personally believe from the prototype video that Xiaomi’s under the screen camera seems to be more advanced. However, it’s good to keep in mind that there seems to be a lot of camera quality loss which is also mentioned by the directors of the companies, who said there are still more steps to take to get these cameras to be the same quality as normal cameras. I personally can’t wait for this, it’s something like this that could have been created years ago if big companies still had people wanting to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Let me know what you think about this.
