Hello, welcome to the October Episode of Inner Circle TV.
This is Mike’s last ever episode of Inner Circle TV as he’s off to do something different – he wants to get away from computers for a bit.
But this last time we show you how you can talk to your PC/laptop/tablet or phone… and have it do what you say. Or just talk instead of typing, which can be handy if you have a tiny keyboard on your phone.
Having problems playing it? Watch it on YouTube here.
I hope you find it interesting – and a big thank you to Mike for all his work. (You’ll hear a proper goodbye from him shortly.)
Thanks
Tim & Mike

Hi – long time no speak (just means I’m too lazy to contact you on problems !)
This is simple, but driving me crazy!
For some reason, my computer (Win10) has suddenly decided to enlarge the screen sent to my monitor, so that I can’t see the RHS details. ‘Settings’ on ‘Display’ is set to size as 100% (recommended). What can I do?? Help !

Hi Gerry,
How strange, has a cable come loose or something like that? Try unplugging your cable from your monitor to your PC and plug it back in again to see if that makes a difference.
There are also some settings on your monitor that might have changed but try unplugging the cable first and if that doesn’t work, let me know and we’ll try changing the settings on the monitor.
Thanks
Jess

Thanks, Jess, I’ve tried unplugging the monitor to cpu cable and replugging, but it makes no difference. I have a hunch that it only happens when I’m on ‘Edge’ – I can read everything ok on Outlook and Office(Word, Excel etc)
I’ll check it out and let you know.
Cheers, Gerry

Hi Gerry,
Is it OK on every other screen, just Edge that has the problem? If so, does it give you any scroll bars across the bottom of the screen to see the rest of the screen?
Try pressing and holding down CTRL and – (minus symbol) on your keyboard at the same time and this should zoom the screen out.
Let me know how you get on,
Thanks
Jess

Jess, You are an absolute STAR !
Yes, Ctrl and minus (or plus) works a treat. When I’m “up north” I’ll buy you a pint of black and tan (as I used to buy my (nurse) girlfriend many moons ago !
Your simple solution justifies to me the club fee ! (as opposed to Tim’s jokes), Thank you very much.
Gerry

Hi Gerry,
Oh that’s great news, I’m so glad that worked!
Always happy to help, though I’m more of a G&T gal, just for future reference 🙂
Take care and let me know if there’s anything else I can help with,
Thanks
Jess 🙂

hi jess
I go into my photos then into print and it just comes up as photo but when I print
the photo as a3 it just comes as a4 onto a3 paper
also another ? I have a lot of tims dvds in six lessons and a couple of 9 lessons
can you ask tim as my family don’t want what them what should I do with them
January 29, 2019 at 9:15 am
Hi Derek,
When you go to Print it, do you change the paper size to A3 as well as the size of the Photo to A3 too?
I think if you don’t know of anyone that would use them, you could perhaps donate them to a charity shop. That way someone else could benefit from using them too.
Thanks
Jess

no such luckin getting Microsoft office picture manager would be glad for any help
January 28, 2019 at 9:45 am
Hi Derek,
How were you printing your photos when they were printing A4? Which program were you using please?
It might just be a case of changing the size of the photo on the print preview button before you set it to print.
Thanks
Jess

If it doesn’t, don’t worry, we can find something that will help with your printing problem.
Thanks

Can you tell me how I can get Microsoft office picture manager on Windows 10 please because when I want to print a a3 photo I’m having it printing on a3paper the size of a4
January 2, 2019 at 3:21 pm
Hello Derek,
Microsoft office picture manager is included in Microsoft Office 2003 and included up to Office 2010. Do you have any Office products between 2003-2010? If so, it should be installed on your computer.
You can print the photo from the Photos app and when you see the print preview, there should be the option to change the paper size to A3 and also make sure the photo size is Full page and it’ll print it A3.
I hope this helps,
Thanks
Jess

Hi,
Can you help with ‘Dropbox’ I have just received some documents that have been sent via Dropbox,
I am informed to open them I must install Dropbox to my computer, it also informs that any time
I open these documents the sender will Know! should this concern me and does that mean they can gain access to other parts of my computer.
October 29, 2018 at 11:22 am
Hi Patrick,
Thanks for getting in touch, were you expecting the attachments or have you checked that the sender meant to send them?
It’s unusual for it to say that the sender will be informed when you open the attachments which makes me think it may be a spam email.
Double check that you know who the sender is and that they were supposed to send them to you.
I hope this helps
Thanks
Jess

Hi John,
Thank you so much. I am sorry to leave but I need to do something else other than stare at a PC for a while so who knows where I’ll end up!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Take it easy
Thank you
Mike 🙂
